GUWAHATI: Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) buses can now be tracked in real time through the Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS), bringing technology-driven services into the daily public transport experience.

The system enables real-time GPS tracking of ASTC buses, allowing passengers to get better information about bus movement and potentially reduce uncertainty and waiting times.
According to the information shared, ITMS also includes automated ticketing and e-payment facilities, along with smart scheduling aimed at improving the efficiency of public transport services.
The system further features emergency panic/SOS buttons linked directly to control centres, along with live CCTV surveillance, with a focus on improving passenger safety, particularly for women.
