GUWAHATI: Indian archer Dhiraj Bommadevara has created history by becoming the first Indian male recurve archer to win individual gold at the Archery World Cup Final in Mexico.

Bommadevara defeated Japan’s Junya Nakanishi in a shoot-off to claim the historic gold medal, sealing the victory with a perfect 10 in the final shoot-off.
The victory ends India’s 16-year wait for a men’s recurve individual gold at the World Cup Final and marks a landmark moment for Indian archery.
The achievement has drawn praise from Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and other leaders, who congratulated Bommadevara on his historic performance.
