GUWAHATI: A rare black panther has been sighted in Manas National Park in Assam, adding to reports of the region’s rich wildlife diversity.

The elusive big cat was recently captured on video inside the park.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the video on social media platform X, describing the moment as a reminder of the need to protect and preserve forests.
“A rare and powerful sighting of a Black Panther in Manas National Park. Moments like these remind us how quietly our forests thrive, and how deeply they depend on our responsibility to protect and preserve them,” he said.
