Bodo Translation of Dr Bhabendra Nath Saikia’s Work Released at Gauhati University


 

GUWAHATI: A Bodo translation of the literary work of noted Assamese writer Dr Bhabendra Nath Saikia was officially released at Gauhati University during a programme organised by the Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies.

The translated book, titled Ansula Afa, has been translated into Bodo by research scholar Udangsri Boro. The initiative aims to strengthen literary and cultural exchange between Assamese and Bodo languages through translation.

Speaking at the event, Padma Shri awardee Professor Anil Kumar Boro praised the effort and highlighted the importance of translation in connecting different literary traditions and cultures. He described Dr Saikia’s works as deeply rooted in social realities and human emotions.

Faculty members, including Professor Swarna Prabha Chainary and Professor Dilip Bora, also appreciated the translation and termed it an important step towards promoting harmony and cultural understanding between the Assamese and Bodo communities.

The event was attended by teachers, researchers, students and literary enthusiasts.
