GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday, June 1, met Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan at the VP Enclave in New Delhi and briefed him on the state’s ongoing development initiatives and future growth plans.

Sharing details of the meeting on X, Sarma said he discussed Assam’s progress across sectors and sought the Vice President’s continued guidance in achieving the vision of a “Viksit Assam”.
“Honoured to call upon Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri @CPR_VP ji today to brief him on the Assam growth story,” the Chief Minister stated.
Sarma also praised the Vice President for his dedication to public service, describing him as a leader whose interactions are always insightful and inspiring.
Calling the meeting a valuable learning experience, the Chief Minister said Assam remains committed to accelerating its development agenda through sustained economic growth, infrastructure expansion and social sector reforms.
The interaction comes at a time when the Assam government is pushing several key initiatives aimed at transforming the state into a major growth hub in the Northeast under its long-term development roadmap.
