Dibrugarh Celebrates Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra; Assam Governor Joins Devotees


 

GUWAHATI: Devotees in Dibrugarh celebrated the annual Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra with great enthusiasm and devotion on Thursday as hundreds gathered to witness the grand procession organised by the Shri Shri Jagannath Cultural Trust.

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya also joined the celebrations and extended his greetings to devotees on the auspicious occasion. Describing the Rath Yatra as a symbol of India's rich cultural heritage, spiritual values, social harmony and inclusiveness, he said the sacred journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra inspires people to embrace compassion, selfless service and dedication towards the welfare of society.

The Governor appreciated the efforts of the organisers in promoting cultural awareness, communal harmony and social service. He also encouraged the youth to preserve India's cultural heritage while embracing modern values and urged citizens to make cleanliness, environmental conservation and social responsibility a part of their daily lives.

He concluded by praying for peace, prosperity, good health and progress for the people of Assam and the nation.
