Tragic incident happened in Arah area of Bihar. A 23-year-old bride was murdered just four days after her wedding. The victim’s name is Sanju Kumari. She was allegedly subjected to dowry for not fulfilling Sonar Chen’s demands. Sanju’s husband and other members of her in-laws’ house fled from the spot, but the police have already arrested her in-laws. This incident has created a sensation in the area.
In May, Sanju got married to a young man named Vinod Pal. Sanju’s family paid a hefty dowry according to their means. 400,000 in cash, a motorcycle, fridge, pressure cooker, necessary furniture and gold and silver ornaments were all they had. But despite all this, Vinod and his family were not satisfied. On the day after the wedding, Sanju was tortured for the gold chain. She was physically beaten by her husband Vinod and mentally harassed and taunted by other family members.
Sanju’s brother Shivam Pal told the media in a tearful voice that they gave everything except the gold chain. On the wedding day, the groom claims the chain and Sanju’s family promises to wear it. But the in-laws could not bear it. They constantly teased Sanju that his family could invite so many people to the wedding but not give them a gold chain.
As per rules, Sanju was supposed to visit his father’s house in May but was killed two days earlier, Shivam said in May, Sanju was prevented from talking to his family. Somehow she gets a chance and calls her brother in tears to tell her that she has been terribly tortured there and that she is not happy at all. Saying this, her husband’s father-in-law snatched the phone from her hand. The mother-in-law threatens Shivam and tells him that his sister is no longer alive and this time only her body will go home. Moments later there was a terrible scream on the phone and the line went dead.
After hearing this, Shivam and other family members rushed to Sanju’s in-laws house. But went there and found that the house was locked and the accused had escaped. More tragically, Sanju’s body was cremated before they left. The family filed a complaint with the police. The police arrested the father-in-law and sent the cremated remains for forensic examination. The police are searching for the remaining fugitives.
