GYWAHATI: In response to the worsening flood situation in Assam, the Gauhati High Court Bar Association (GHCBA) has resolved to undertake relief measures for flood-affected communities and extend financial assistance to bar associations impacted by the disaster.

The decision was taken during an Emergent Extra-Ordinary General Meeting held on Friday, July 24, where members discussed the extensive damage caused by the floods across the state.
As part of its relief initiative, the Association will distribute essential relief materials to flood-affected residents in Sivasagar district, one of the worst-hit areas in Assam. It will also provide financial assistance to the Sivasagar Bar Association, Nazira Bar Association, and Charaideo Bar Association, acknowledging the challenges faced by members of the legal fraternity in these flood-affected regions.
Reaffirming its commitment to public service, the Gauhati High Court Bar Association expressed solidarity with those affected by the floods and appealed to its members and the public to contribute towards ongoing relief efforts. The Association also prayed for the safety, well-being, and speedy rehabilitation of all those impacted by the calamity.
