Assam’s Girijananda Chowdhury University received a special award under the recent India Environment Program organized by Research Heights Foundation and Institute of Environmental Protection Training and Research. The university has been recognized as a Platinum Sustainable Campus as part of the India Sustainability Campus Mission for this announcement during the special program during Earth Week held from April 22.
The award is in recognition of the university’s continuous service and awareness in environmental protection and sustainable development. The institution has played a special role in creating a favorable environment within the campus and fostering the love of nature among the students. This recognition takes the University’s commitment to nature conservation to a new level.
As part of the Earth Week celebrations, various activities were conducted at Girijanand Chowdhury University. This includes plantation drives, Plastic free campaign, Awareness sessions on sustainability and various competitions are held among students. Not limited to the campus, the university has also undertaken several public relations programs to create environmental awareness among the public.
After this achievement, the university authorities would like to express their sincere thanks to Research Heights Foundation and EPTRI. National Service Scheme volunteers and organizing committee worked hard to make this event a success. The university will do such public welfare work to build a green campus in the coming days.
