GUWAHATI: The facility will improve access to essential dialysis care for patients from Pandu and adjoining areas, enabling them to receive free dialysis treatment closer to their place of residence.

A Free Dialysis Centre under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) was inaugurated at Pandu FRU in Kamrup Metro on Wednesday, September 23.
The centre was inaugurated by Guwahati Lok Sabha MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi and has three dialysis machines. It will provide free dialysis services to patients requiring renal therapy.
The facility aims to improve access to dialysis care for patients from Pandu and adjoining areas, allowing them to receive free treatment closer to their place of residence.
Hemanta Choudhury, OSD to the Chief Minister of Assam; Monjit Borkakoti, DDC, Kamrup Metro; Pallab Jyoti Nath, OSD, NHM Assam; Sanjay Das, Chairman, Hospital Management Committee, Pandu FRU; Dr Sanjeev Kumar Saikia, Joint DHS, Kamrup Metro; and Dr Kumud Deka, Deputy Superintendent, Pandu FRU, attended the inauguration.
Councillors, officials of the DPMU and West Zone BPMU, doctors, healthcare staff, ASHAs and members of the public were also present.
