Guwahati Likely to Receive Rain, Thunderstorms Over Next 24 Hours


 

GUWAHATI: Guwahati is likely to witness a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers over the next 24 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its weather bulletin issued on August 16.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are most likely to remain around 35°C and 27°C, respectively. Guwahati recorded a maximum temperature of 36.5°C, which was 3.7°C above normal, while the minimum temperature was 27.6°C, 1.8°C above normal.

Moderate rain is very likely at many places over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura, while light to moderate rain is very likely at a few places over Meghalaya and Manipur.

Thunderstorms and lightning are very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Heavy rain is also very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura.

Hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail at some places over Assam and Meghalaya and parts of Tripura.
