GUWAHATI: Police have busted an inter-state dog theft gang from Guwahati, arresting 5 accused in an operation launched by Basistha PS, Officer in Charge Kapil Pathak told media on June 29, Monday.

According to police, the arrested were identified as Rangsina Rangkhang, Bichu Rangpi, Muni Rangpi, Waisong Terang, and Marcy Takbipi, all residents of Karbi Anglong district.
They are accused of stealing and smuggling dogs from Guwahati to other states.
Police have seized 2 vehicles involved in the crime, and 5 mobile phones from them.
