GUWAHATI: Guwahati will soon have a direct air connection with Bangkok, with IndiGo set to begin flights between the two cities from October 27, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on X on Friday, August 28.

The announcement comes after the launch of direct connectivity between Guwahati and Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
According to the Chief Minister, the new Guwahati-Bangkok connection will provide another gateway to Southeast Asia and is expected to give a boost to tourism, trade and travel in the region.
The direct international service is expected to improve connectivity for passengers from Assam and the wider Northeast, while also making travel between the region and Thailand more convenient.
