GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday, May 11, announced the names of four leaders who will take oath as ministers alongside him in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a post on X, Sarma said that Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro, and Ajanta Neog will be inducted into the new Council of Ministers during the swearing-in ceremony.
He also announced that BJP MLA Ranjit Das will be the alliance’s candidate for the post of Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
“My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all of them. Together, we will continue to work with full dedication for a stronger, more developed and prosperous Assam,” Sarma wrote in the post.
The swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Council of Ministers will be held on Tuesday at around 11:40 AM at Veterinary Field in Khanapara.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of NDA-ruled states, will to attend the ceremony.
In the recently concluded Assam Assembly elections, the BJP won 82 seats in the 126-member House, while its allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) secured 10 seats each.
