According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Bablu Ray, a native of Samastipur in Bihar, allegedly stole approximately 800 grams of silver from the house where he was employed. The incident took place in the absence of the homeowners, who were away when the theft occurred.
The accused had reportedly been working as a domestic help at the residence and is believed to have executed the theft after deliberately damaging the CCTV cameras installed on the premises. He subsequently fled, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Speaking to GPlus, the homeowner stated that Ray had been hired through a broker who had charged a commission for arranging the employment. “After hiring him, we noticed that he was occasionally intoxicated and had decided to terminate his services. However, before we could do so, he took advantage of our absence, stole the silver, and escaped. He also damaged the CCTV cameras,” the owner said. The homeowner further expressed concern over the safety of residents in the city, adding that even the broker was unaware of the accused’s current location.
A complaint has been lodged at Dispur Police Station. Confirming the development, a police official said, “We have received the complaint. We are currently coordinating with the telecom department to trace the accused. The investigation is ongoing.”
Further details in the case are awaited as police continue their search for the suspect.
