India, the reigning ODI world champions, will aim to secure their first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup title after falling short in previous editions. The squad features a blend of experienced campaigners and fresh faces as the team prepares for a challenging campaign on English soil.

Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana will spearhead the batting unit alongside Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh. The spin department will be anchored by all-rounder Deepti Sharma, while Renuka Thakur is expected to lead the pace attack.

The selectors have also handed maiden T20 World Cup call-ups to Bharti Fulmali, Shree Charani, Nandini Sharma and Kranti Goud, signalling a focus on youth and depth ahead of the tournament.

However, a few notable omissions have sparked discussion among fans and experts, with Amanjot Kaur and Kashvee Gautam missing out on selection.

India have been placed in Group A alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Netherlands and South Africa. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side will begin their campaign against Pakistan on June 14 and will be eager to move beyond the group-stage exit they suffered in the 2024 edition.
