Batting first, India posted 183/5 on the back of a record 129-run opening stand between Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana, before bowling Sri Lanka out for 111 in 19.4 overs. Shree Charani led the attack with four wickets, while Deepti Sharma picked up three.
Shafali was named Player of the Match for her contribution at the top of the order as India produced a commanding all-round performance in the final.
The win also avenged India’s defeat to Sri Lanka in the 2024 final and marked their sixth victory over Sri Lanka in an Asia Cup final across the ODI and T20 formats.
India remained unbeaten throughout the 2026 tournament, while Sri Lanka entered the final as the defending champions.
