IndiGo Flight Hits Pole While Parking at Srinagar Airport


 

GUWAHATI: An IndiGo flight operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar collided with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while parking at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning, September 4.

The incident involving flight 6E 225 (VT-NOG) occurred at around 9 AM when the aircraft was being parked at Bay No. 6. According to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the aircraft’s nose struck the VDGS pole.

All passengers and crew members were reported safe, and no injuries were reported. The passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft following the incident.

The aircraft sustained some damage in the collision. However, airport operations remained normal, with flight arrivals and departures continuing as scheduled.

IndiGo said the circumstances surrounding the incident would be examined by the appropriate authorities as per prescribed procedures. The airline said the exact cause would be determined after the investigation is completed and that no conclusion has been drawn at this stage.

An investigation report detailing the incident has been sought.
