The docuseries will explore Perry’s journey beyond his iconic role as Chandler, including his career, personal life and long-running struggles with drug addiction.

According to Netflix, the series will trace Perry’s rise as a comedy star and examine his private struggles, while also highlighting his legacy of speaking openly about addiction and advocating for recovery.

The series will feature never-before-heard testimony from Perry’s sister, Mia Perry Bowick, a licensed psychotherapist, writer and speaker. It will also include previously unreleased photographs and videos from the Perry family’s private archive.

The title follows the naming format used for Friends episodes, which traditionally began with “The One About”.

The docuseries is directed by Emmy Award winner Mary Robertson and produced by Maxine Productions, a part of Sony Pictures Television. Robertson, Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman serve as executive producers, while Lora Moftah is the co-executive producer and Jessica Call is the producer.

Perry died on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. He was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. His death was later attributed to the acute effects of ketamine.

Perry had spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction throughout his career, including in his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.
The upcoming Netflix series is expected to offer a closer look at the actor’s life, career and personal struggles, while revisiting the legacy he left behind through his work and advocacy.
