According to a public notice issued by the temple authorities, the newly upgraded online portal for booking Special Darshan tickets will be opened to the general public from 6 PM on June 15.
The temple administration stated that the decision has been taken in view of the increasing rush of devotees at the revered shrine atop Nilachal Hill in Guwahati. As part of the new system, the existing counter-based booking facility for offline Special Darshan tickets, including both morning and afternoon slots, will be discontinued from the same date.
"With the increasing heavy rush day by day at Maa Kamakhya Devalaya, the facility of counter booking for offline Special Darshan Tickets will be discontinued from 15th June onwards," the notice said.
Devotees seeking Special Darshan will now have to make their bookings exclusively through the temple's official online portal. The authorities have urged pilgrims to complete their bookings in advance through the digital system to avoid inconvenience.
The official website for ticket booking is www.mkdonline.in.
The move is expected to reduce long queues, improve crowd management, and enhance the overall pilgrimage experience for thousands of devotees who visit the Kamakhya Temple.
