GUWAHATI: Mumbai is set to host the 2027 edition of Lollapalooza India on January 23 and 24, with nu-metal band Limp Bizkit, R&B and pop singer Olivia Dean, girl group Katseye, Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer and Irish rock act Fontaines D.C. among the major names making their India debut.

The two-day festival will take place at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse across four stages.

For Limp Bizkit fans, the India debut comes after a long wait. The American nu-metal band was earlier scheduled to perform in India in 2013 as part of the Fly Festival, but the appearance was cancelled. The band will now make its first India performance 14 years later.

Olivia Dean will also make her India debut at the festival. The British R&B and pop singer is known for albums including Messy (2023) and The Art of Loving (2025). Her India appearance had already been teased on social media after fans signed up for information about her visit.

Dean will arrive in Mumbai following a major career milestone, having won the Best New Artist award at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

5 Seconds of Summer will also perform in India for the first time. The Australian pop-rock band's guitarist, vocalist and producer

Michael Clifford had spoken about the possibility of the group visiting India in a 2022 interview, describing a performance in the country as a dream.

Los Angeles-based girl group Katseye is another major debut act on the 2027 lineup. The group's current active lineup includes Daniela Avanzini, Indian-origin member Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae Jeung.

It remains uncertain whether group leader Sophia Laforteza or Manon Bannerman will return in time for the Mumbai performance, as both are currently on hiatus due to health issues.

The festival will also feature Rhea Raj, Lara Raj’s sister and an Indian-origin pop artist, adding another connection to India to the lineup.

Lollapalooza was founded by Perry Farrell in 1991 as a touring music festival before expanding internationally to countries including Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France and India. Chicago remains its permanent US home.

The 2027 edition follows what organisers described as Lollapalooza India’s biggest year yet in 2026. Linkin Park’s Mumbai performance that year also drew the largest audience for a single show since the Indian edition began in 2023.

Beyond music, Lollapalooza India will continue to feature attractions including the Lolla Food Park, art installations, brand experiences and fan communities. The festival’s #LollaForChange initiative is also set to return, with a focus on sustainability, accessibility and inclusivity.
