NEET UG exam canceled due to alleged question paper leak. On May 3, the medical admission test was held across the country. However, the question paper is being leaked from Monday.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also raised the issue. In such circumstances the admission test is cancelled. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the exam will be conducted in a new format. CBI will investigate question paper leak.
The National Examinations Council (NEC) conducted the NEET UG exam in May with around 2.3 million students appearing for the exam. But problems have arisen in Rajasthan. It is reported that some students have received the prospective question paper at least a month before the exam.
Additional Director General Vishal Banchal said there were 410 questions in the prospective question paper. After the exam it was found that 120 Chemistry questions are exactly like the original questions. Not only were the questions the same, but the answer options were. Another source claimed that out of 281 questions in the prospective paper, 135 were identical to the original.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi criticized the center in this incident. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal also raised the issue.
In 2024, there were allegations of widespread corruption in the NEET UG exam question paper. It is alleged that the question papers were sold for several thousand rupees. Rahul questioned whether that incident has been repeated.
Within hours, the National Testing Agency announced the cancellation of the May 3 exam. This decision was taken after investigating the question paper leak allegations. The CBI has been given the responsibility of investigating the question paper leak. Students will have to sit for the exam again.
