GUWAHATI: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Wednesday, June 3, commenced pothole repair and pavement maintenance work along the Baihata–Jalukbari stretch of National Highway 27 (NH-27) under the jurisdiction of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Guwahati.

The maintenance activities are being carried out to ensure safer and smoother travel for commuters using the busy highway corridor. Officials stated that the works include repairing damaged road surfaces and undertaking routine pavement upkeep to improve overall riding quality.
The initiative is also aimed at enhancing road safety, reducing travel discomfort, and preserving highway infrastructure to ensure its long-term durability and serviceability.
NHAI said the maintenance drive forms part of its ongoing efforts to provide road users with safe, efficient, and well-maintained national highways across the country.
