GUWAHATI: A tree collapsed onto a moving passenger bus during a massive thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rain and gusty winds that wreaked havoc in Chapar of Assam’s Dhubri district on Sunday evening, May 17. Despite the impact, all passengers onboard narrowly escaped without major injuries.

Speaking to GPlus, the officer in-charge of Chapar Police Station said an electricity pole also fell on an e-rickshaw amid the severe weather conditions. The passengers inside the vehicle survived without serious injuries.
The storm uprooted several trees and electric poles across Chapar, disrupting traffic movement and triggering power outages in multiple localities.
