GUWAHATI: A labourer lost his life and three others sustained injuries after a wall collapsed at a construction site in the BBC Colony area of Pandu in Guwahati during the wee hours of Sunday, May 17.

Speaking to GPlus, an official from Jalukbari Police Station said the incident took place at around 3:30 AM while the labourers engaged in the construction of a building were asleep inside a temporary room near the site. The wall suddenly collapsed and fell on the workers, trapping them under the debris.
One of the labourers, identified as Biswas, a resident of West Bengal, died on the spot. The remaining individuals suffered injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
An FIR has been lodged at Jalukbari Police Station following the incident. Further investigation is underway.
