GUWAHATI: Police have identified the person whose lifeless body was discovered inside a parked car in the Athgaon area of Guwahati on the morning of Wednesday, April 29, and have attributed the death to a likely heart attack.
Azizur Rahman (48), a resident of Azara on the outskirts of the city, who originally hailed from Goalpara, was working as a driver for a private owner for the past 10 years.
“We are awaiting the post-mortem report as of now. However, preliminary investigation and past medical history suggest that Rahman might have died following a heart attack. Doctors have also indicated such a possibility, but nothing can be confirmed at this stage,” an officer from Pan Bazaar Police Station told GPlus.
Family members revealed that Rahman had been suffering from a heart condition for several years. His wife reportedly informed the police that he was on regular medication and may have missed a dose, which could have triggered a cardiac episode.
The post-mortem examination has been conducted, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of death.
