Raghav Chadha to Join BJP After Announcing Exit from AAP

GUWAHATI: Days after a public fallout with the Aam Aadmi Party over his removal as deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, MP Raghav Chadha on Friday, April 24, announced that he will quit the party and join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Addressing a press conference, Chadha said that two-thirds of AAP’s Rajya Sabha MPs have decided to invoke constitutional provisions to merge with the BJP.

Fellow leaders Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal also announced their exit from AAP and said they would join the BJP.

The development comes days after tensions escalated within the party led by Arvind Kejriwal, following Chadha’s removal from a key parliamentary post.

The move marks one of the most significant internal ruptures in AAP’s leadership in recent years, with potential implications for the party’s strength in the Rajya Sabha.
