Red Shield Division Holds Security Conference in Assam Ahead of Independence Day


 

GUWAHATI: The Red Shield Division, under the aegis of the Spear Corps, organised a security conference at Laipuli on Wednesday, July 1, as part of its ongoing Military-Civil Fusion initiative to strengthen security preparedness ahead of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.

The conference brought together Army officials and representatives of the Assam Police, including the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of Tinsukia and Dibrugarh, to review the overall security framework and enhance coordination among agencies.

According to the Indian Army, discussions focused on intelligence sharing, coordinated preventive measures, proactive security planning and strengthening inter-agency cooperation to effectively address emerging security challenges during the Independence Day period.

The meeting concluded with all participating stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to seamless coordination and adopting a unified approach to ensure peaceful, secure and incident-free Independence Day celebrations across the region.

The Army said that such collaborative initiatives under the Military-Civil Fusion programme are aimed at fostering stronger coordination and mutual trust between the armed forces and civil agencies while contributing to peace, security and stability in the region.
