SC To Hear Shyamkanu Mahanta’s Bail Plea On June 23 In Zubeen Garg Death Case


 

GUWAHATI: The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the bail plea of Shyamkanu Mahanta, one of the principal accused in the case related to the death of music icon Zubeen Garg, on Tuesday, June 23.

According to information available on the Supreme Court’s website, the matter has been listed for hearing on the scheduled date.

Mahanta approached the apex court seeking bail after a special fast-track court in Guwahati rejected his plea on April 30. Proceedings in the case continue before the fast-track court.

Mahanta and the other accused remain in judicial custody.

Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19, 2025, in Singapore, where he had travelled to attend and perform at the North East India Festival.
