Assam Cricket Association Holds Special General Body Meeting, Forms Key Committees for 2026–27 Season


 

GUWAHATI: The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on Monday, May 18, held a Special General Body Meeting at the auditorium of 91 Yards Club at the ACA Stadium Complex in Guwahati, with representatives from all affiliated and playing member units participating in the session.

Several important matters related to the administration and development of cricket in Assam were discussed during the meeting, including plans and organisational decisions for the upcoming 2026–27 season.

During the meeting, ACA constituted key committees for the new season, including the Cricket Committee, Standing Committee, Umpires’ Committee and several other sub-committees aimed at strengthening cricket administration and promoting the sport across the state.

The association also distributed affiliation letters to six newly affiliated units, including North Salmara, Naharkatia, Lakhipur, Titabar, Kaliabor and Margherita.

In another major development, ACA formed the new Governing Council of the ACA Cricket Academy for a tenure of four years.

The meeting also featured discussions on ACA’s future roadmap for cricket development in Assam and reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects being undertaken to improve cricketing facilities and promote the game at different levels.

BCCI Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia attended the meeting as a special invitee. The session was chaired by ACA President Taranga Gogoi and attended by Vice President Romen Dutta, Secretary Sanatan Das, Joint Secretary Rajendra Singh, Treasurer Anupam Deka, and Apex Council members Mukutananda Bhattacharjya and Rumi Boro.
