GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court on Monday, May 18, heard the bail petition of Shekharjyoti Goswami, one of the accused in the case linked to the death of singer Zubeen Garg. The court is likely to pronounce its order on the plea on May 28.

The High Court will also pass its order on the framing of charges against the seven accused persons on May 26. Those named in the case include Shyamkanu Mahanta, Sandipan Garg, Siddharth Sharma, Amritprabha Mahanta, Shekharjyoti Goswami, Nandeshwar Bora and Paresh Baishya.
Earlier, on May 15, the High Court had heard the bail plea of Shyamkanu Mahanta. During the proceedings, the court directed the investigating agency to submit a detailed status report on the progress of the investigation.
Following arguments presented by both the prosecution and defence counsels, the court reserved its decision on the bail order and fixed the next hearing for May 22.
