Three Drug Peddlers Held in Separate Operations Across Guwahati, Heroin Seized


 

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati police, on Tuesday, May 5, launched two operations in different parts of the city, leading to the arrest of three alleged drug peddlers and the seizure of significant quantities of heroin.

In the first operation, officials from Basistha Police Station, acting on intelligence inputs, conducted a raid in the Sawkuchi area. One suspected drug peddler, identified as Mintu Rahman (31) from Rangia, was apprehended.

The law enforcement authorities recovered three soap boxes containing heroin weighing 32 grams from his possession. In addition to it, a two-wheeler vehicle and a mobile phone were also seized. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused.

In a separate operation, a team from the Jalukbari Police Station arrested two individuals — Md Majidul Ali (22) and Md Goman Khan (32), both residents of Barpeta. The duo were nabbed in Jalukbari with 54 grams of heroin in their possession.

Police officials stated that both accused have been taken into custody and necessary legal action has been initiated.
