With cylinder prices touching ₹1500 and outside food costing nearly ₹300 daily, students are struggling to manage meals ahead of exams and classes.
Some students voiced their concerns over the ongoing crisis, stating that there is no certainty about their ability to cook food on a daily basis. They said they are being forced to search for firewood just to prepare meals, adding to their difficulties.
They further pointed out that both they and their seniors have examinations approaching, making the situation even more stressful. “We are unsure whether to focus on our studies or deal with these challenges,” the students said.
The students also highlighted the financial strain caused by the situation, noting that they are compelled to eat outside or order food, which is proving to be expensive. As students, they described this as a serious concern.
They have urged the authorities to intervene and make necessary arrangements at the earliest to address the issue.
The hostel students have also filed a memorandum to the concerned authorities to tackle the issue.
