GUWAHATI: Three persons were injured after the car they were travelling in crashed into an electric pole and burst into flames in Assam’s Golaghat district on Wednesday, April 29.

According to preliminary information, the driver was reportedly attempting risky stunts when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slam into the electric pole at around 5 AM. The impact was followed by a fire that rapidly engulfed the car within minutes.
Eyewitnesses claimed that nearby residents rushed to the scene and allegedly assaulted the driver in the aftermath of the crash. Speaking to GPlus, an official from Golaghat Police Station said that three people travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries and were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The vehicle incurred damages in the blaze before fire and emergency services arrived and managed to douse the flames.
The identities of the occupants and further details regarding the condition of the injured persons have not yet been confirmed at the time of filing this report.
