GUWAHATI: A 17-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed while returning from a Bihu function in Guwahati’s Japorigog area, police stated on Monday, May 11.
According to police, the incident came to light after Manika Kalita lodged a complaint at Dispur Police Station, alleging that her son was attacked by two individuals identified as Raju Ali and Rohit Baishya. The victim sustained serious injuries in the assault and is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
Following the complaint, Dispur Police registered a case vide Dispur P.S. Case No. 279/2026 under Sections 126(2), 118(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police said both accused, Rohit Baishya and Raju Ali, a resident of Hajo, have been apprehended. The knife allegedly used in the attack was also recovered from the place of occurrence.
Police have stated that necessary legal action has been taken.
