GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has imposed a penalty of ₹20,000 after building materials were found stocked without authorisation on Dhrubajyoti Path in Ambikagiri Nagar.

The action was taken during an enforcement drive against the unauthorised use of roads and public spaces. Materials placed on public roads can obstruct the movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
The GMC has been taking action against such instances where construction materials are stored on roads or other public spaces without permission.
Earlier, the Corporation had imposed a penalty of ₹4,000 for the unauthorised stocking of building materials along MT Road under Division 3.
