GUWAHATI: Cachar Police seized 2.2 kg of suspected heroin, valued at around ₹13 crore, from a truck at Ramnagar Bypass in Silchar and apprehended one person in connection with the seizure.

The suspected heroin was concealed in 150 soap cases inside a secret chamber of the truck.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media platform X to share details of the seizure.
“₹13 cr worth of Hera Pheri in 150 soap cases. So much for a clean business,” Sarma said.
Further details regarding the accused were not immediately available.
