GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet took several important decisions at its meeting on Thursday, September 24, with measures aimed at supporting women Self-Help Group (SHG) members, casual workers and farmers across the state.

The Cabinet approved a one-time exemption for women SHG members to complete their Aadhaar enrolment by March 31, 2027. The decision is expected to provide additional time to eligible SHG members who have not yet completed the enrolment process.
In another key decision, the Cabinet approved the grant of minimum pay scale to 166 Muster Roll, casual and fixed-pay workers, with the benefit taking effect from September 1.
The Cabinet also approved State Guidelines for State Financial Assistance towards the Promoter’s Contribution under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) to support farmers and agricultural organisations.
Under the approved guidelines, the Assam government will bear the entire 10% mandatory promoter’s contribution for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and cooperatives.
For individual beneficiaries, the state government will bear 5% of the promoter’s contribution, while the beneficiary will contribute the remaining 5%.
The measures are part of a series of decisions taken by the Cabinet to extend support to different sections, including SHG members, workers and those involved in agricultural infrastructure.
