GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet took several important decisions at its meeting on Thursday, September 24, including land allocations for higher education and industrial development in the state.

The Cabinet approved the allotment of 256 bighas of land at Pratapgarh in Patharkandi for the establishment of the College of Agriculture, Patharkandi. A construction tender for the proposed college has also been issued earlier this year.
In another decision, the Cabinet approved the allotment of 504 bighas of land in the Hajo Revenue Circle of Kamrup for setting up a new Industrial Estate.
The land allocation is expected to facilitate the development of industrial infrastructure in the area. Assam's Industries and Commerce Department lists multiple industrial estates and areas across Kamrup as part of the state's existing industrial infrastructure.
