GUWAHATI: Assamese feature film ‘Adishakti’, produced under Avira Motion Pictures, is set to release across cinemas in Assam on December 4.

The film’s teaser and poster were unveiled at an event held at Aideu Cinema Hall in Panjabari, Guwahati, on September 27. Directed by Bitopan Kashyap, the film has an original story written by Indrani Baruah and explores themes of love, mystery, music, women’s strength, struggle and identity.
According to the filmmakers, ‘Adishakti’ has already received recognition on the film festival circuit. The film won three awards at the Global Cine Confluence (GCC) 2026 in New Delhi and also received special recognition at the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) and the New Delhi Film Festival.
The film marks the lead debut of Dr Arshia Mahanta and features actors including Manjula Barua, Rina Borah, Tapan Das, Pranami Bharati, Ujjwal Rajkhowa, Aparna Dutta Choudhury, Jolly Laskar, Ashim Krishna Baruah and Nirupom Saikia.
Music is another key element of the film, with an album comprising five songs featuring the voices of Zubeen Garg, Zublee Baruah, Achuryja Borpatra, Shankuraj Konwar, Gauranga Shekhar, Priyakshi Pachani and Pratikshyaa.
Among the tracks is ‘Oni Boni’, a duet by Zubeen Garg and Zublee Baruah. The song is being presented by the makers as one of the film’s notable musical elements and a final recording featuring the duo.
With the film centred around a woman’s journey and identity, the makers said they are looking to offer audiences a different cinematic experience when ‘Adishakti’ releases in Assam on December 4.
