The fan parks are expected to offer large-screen live screenings of FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, creating a vibrant community viewing experience for supporters.
The announcement comes days after neighbouring Meghalaya unveiled its own Chief Minister's Football Fan Park in Shillong. The facility, located at the S.R.G.T. Parking Lot in Polo, was launched on Friday to screen selected FIFA World Cup matches at timings convenient for Indian viewers, including kick-offs at 9.30 PM, 10.30 PM and 12.30 AM.
The Meghalaya government has announced free entry to the fan park throughout the tournament for both residents and visitors. In addition to live match screenings, the venue will feature performances by artistes associated with the Chief Minister's Meghalaya Grassroots Music Programme, combining football with the state's rich musical and cultural traditions.
