AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal Wins Binnakandi Seat by 35,380 Votes in Assam Elections 2026


 

GUWAHATI: Badruddin Ajmal, president of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), has secured a decisive win in the Binnakandi Assembly constituency, defeating his closest rivals in the Assam Assembly Elections 2026.

Ajmal polled 1,19,721 votes, comfortably ahead of Rejaul Karim Chowdhury of the Assam Jatiya Parishad, who garnered 84,341 votes. Shahab Uddin Majumdar of the Asom Gana Parishad finished a distant third with 20,955 votes. The AIUDF leader clinched the seat with a margin of 35,380 votes.

Several independent candidates also contested the seat. Mohammed Kabir Ahmed received 2,264 votes, followed by Forij Uddin (1,543), Shamsul Haque Laskar (1,514), Abdul Hannan (1,369), Fajlul Karim Chowdhury (1,197), Prafulla Baglari (828), Nazmul Alam Laskar (539), Imdadur Rahman (309), and Zakaria Hussain (287).

Additionally, 2,023 voters exercised the NOTA (None of the Above) option in the constituency.
