No casualties or injuries were reported as the train was empty at the time of the incident.
According to reports, the derailment occurred at around 9:30 pm in the Khand Gaon area during routine yard operations, when three coaches went off the tracks inside the railway yard.
Railway authorities immediately launched restoration work following the incident. Cranes and heavy machinery were deployed to remove the derailed coaches and clear the affected section, while operations continued through the night to restore normal movement.
Officials said the exact cause of the derailment is yet to be determined and an investigation has been initiated. Preliminary reports suggest a possible brake failure during routine maintenance, though railway authorities have not confirmed the cause.
Meanwhile, Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel cleared the area after a crowd gathered near the tracks following the incident.
