GUWAHATI: The alleged fake passport case involving the wife of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken a fresh political turn, with the Assam Police summoning senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala for questioning.

According to sources, Surjewala has been asked to appear before the Crime Branch on May 23 in connection with the ongoing investigation.
The latest summon follows statements made by Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera during his earlier interrogation by Assam Police.
