During the protest, members of the students’ body raised slogans against the government and expressed concern over the increasing cost of food and other basic necessities.
AGSU alleged that the rising prices have made it difficult for ordinary people, particularly middle-class and economically weaker families, to manage their daily expenses. The union also raised concerns over the distribution of essential commodities and called for better monitoring by the authorities.
The protesters demanded immediate measures to control the prices of essential items and ensure their availability at affordable rates.
AGSU leaders said the government should take concrete steps to address the issue, warning that the union could intensify its agitation if the situation remains unchanged.
