GUWAHATI: The Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat has terminated the contractual re-employment of 12 retired officers and employees serving in various departments of the Assembly.

An official order issued by the Secretariat on Friday, May 29, stated that the services of the re-employed personnel had been discontinued with immediate effect under the direction of Speaker Ranjeet Kumar Dass, signalling the beginning of a broader restructuring exercise within the Assembly administration.
The relieved personnel had been engaged in multiple capacities, including Officers on Special Duty (OSDs), coordinators, attendants and support staff attached to different branches of the Secretariat.
According to the order, the contractual assignments of the retired officials officially came to an end on May 29, 2026.
The affected employees were posted across several key divisions such as the Public Undertakings Committee, MLA Hostel, Issue Branch, Legislation Branch, Establishment Branch, Security Branch and other administrative sections of the Assembly Secretariat.
