Assam Elections 2026: BPF’s Charan Boro Registers Landslide Victory in Mazbat


 

GUWAHATI: Charan Boro, Minister of Transport and Welfare of Bodoland, has secured a resounding victory from the Mazbat constituency in the Assam Assembly elections, reaffirming the strong presence of the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) in the region.

Boro polled 84,718 votes, winning the seat by a massive margin of 55,546 votes over his nearest rival. Priti Rekha Barla of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) secured 29,172 votes.

Meanwhile, Narayan Adhikari of the Indian National Congress (INC) finished third with 23,558 votes, trailing significantly behind the winner.

The result further consolidates the BPF’s standing in Bodoland region constituencies in the ongoing Assembly elections.
