GUWAHATI: Assam's flood death toll has risen to 94 after five more deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the latest flood bulletin issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).

The latest fatalities include two deaths in Sivasagar, two in Biswanath, and one in Golaghat. One person remains missing.
The flood situation, though improving in several areas, continues to affect 73,026 people across the state. During the last 24 hours, 35,025 animals have been affected by the floods, while 8,529 animals were washed away.
Amid the ongoing crisis, Union Minister and BJP National President J.P. Nadda on Wednesday visited the flood-affected districts of Sivasagar and Dibrugarh along with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to assess the extent of the damage.
During the visit, Nadda met families who lost their loved ones in the floods and expressed his condolences. He also reviewed the flood situation with the Chief Minister and senior state administrative officials, assessing the progress of relief, rehabilitation and healthcare measures being undertaken in the affected areas.
In a post on X, Nadda said the Central Government is working closely with the Government of Assam to ensure comprehensive support for relief, rehabilitation and the timely restoration of normalcy in the flood-hit regions.
The state government and disaster response agencies continue to carry out relief operations as affected residents await rehabilitation and assistance.
