GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet took several important decisions at its meeting held on Thursday, September 24, including measures related to essential commodities ahead of the festive season.

Among them was the approval for the distribution of subsidised sugar and masur dal through Fair Price Shops (FPS) across the state.
Under the decision, sugar and masur dal will be made available at ₹100 through Fair Price Shops for the month of October.
The move is aimed at providing essential food items to beneficiaries at subsidised prices during the festive month.
The distribution will be carried out through the state’s network of Fair Price Shops.
