GUWAHATI: An over ground worker (OGW) of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) was apprehended in Nagaland’s Mon district while reportedly heading there with the intention of joining the banned outfit, police said.

The man, identified as Shyamal Danah, son of Prahlad Danah and a resident of Thulai Chuk, Mahmora, Alikiner, Dibrugarh, was associated with ULFA-I as an overground worker.
Acting on a specific intelligence input, a team of Charaideo Police led by the DySP (HQ) and DySP (S), along with personnel of 20 AR (E-Coy), proceeded to Mon and apprehended Danah.
He was subsequently brought back to Charaideo for further investigation. Police said necessary legal action would be initiated against him.
